Call of Duty League

Call of Duty League 2024 is the fifth season. Some tournaments occur on portable Call of Duty and battle royal platforms, but the traditional multiplayer tournaments are far more impressive.

Call of Duty League 2024 schedule

The CDL 2024 season kicked off on December 8, 2023. Teams compete in four majors throughout the season, culminating in the Call of Duty Championship tournament, which will be held in Boston, Miami, Toronto, and Burbank.

During the COD League 2024 season, YouTube is the only place to watch live gameplay.

The list of teams from this tournament:

  • Atlanta FaZe
  • Boston Breach
  • Miami Heretics (was Florida Mutineers)
  • Carolina Royal Ravens (was London Royal Ravens)
  • Los Angeles Guerrillas
  • LA Thieves
  • Minnesota ROKKR
  • New York Subliners (reigning champions)
  • OpTic Texas
  • Seattle Surge
  • Toronto Ultra
  • Vegas Legion

The first two Majors have already passed. In the Call of Duty League 2024: Stage 1 Major in Boston, Toronto Ultra emerged victorious and took home $150,000 of the $375,000 prize pool. The tournament was held from January 25 to 28. The MVP was Tobias Juul Jonsson, also known as "CleanX."

Major 2, which took place from March 21-24 in Miami, was won by Atlanta FaZe, who finished only second at the first Major. The event also had a prize pool of $375,000. The MVP was Chris Lehr, aka "Simp."

Major 3 will be held May 16-19 in Toronto, and Major 4 will be held July 27-30 in Burbank behind closed doors with no live audience, which upset the CoD community.

The venue and prize pool of the Call of Duty Championship still need to be discovered.

Call of Duty Challengers

Call of Duty Challengers

Call of Duty Challengers, a lower-level ecosystem, fuels the CDL, a league supported by it. Potential players come from the Challengers cycle into the League—provided they are good enough.

Call of Duty Challengers has many events during the game season.

The Challengers series has different events: the Open, Cup, Elite, LCQ, and the Grand Finals.

Call of Duty Challengers 2024 - Boston Open from January 26 to 28 and Call of Duty Challengers 2024 - Miami Open from March 22 to 24 have already been held, and the same event is expected to be held in Toronto from May 17 to May 19.

The prize fund of each tournament is $100,000. In Boston, FC Black won and took $40,000 from the prize pool, and in Miami, Lore Gold won, leaving FC Black in second place, and they were rewarded with a similar amount.

Call of Duty Challengers Finals will be held in July this year with a prize pool of $150,000.

The Call of Duty Challengers 2024 Cup series tournaments began on January 20. The prize pool is usually limited to 1500 - 2500 thousand dollars. The tournament involves four regions: South America, North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.

Call of Duty Challengers 2024 — Elite is divided into only two regions: North America and Europe. The prize pool for each tournament is $70,000.

The first tournament in the series was held from February 21 to March 7. The winner in the European region was OMiT EU, in North America Boston Academy.

The World Series of Warzone

Call of Duty tournament

Call of Duty Warzone emerged in 2020 and quickly became one of the most famous battle royal games ever. Today, it has been somewhat weakened by game development decisions and updates, but it still has a fanbase.

As of 2022, one of the most prestigious events in Call of Duty has become the World Series of Warzone. This tournament is the place to be in the Warzone scene and attracts as many spectators as the Call of Duty League.

The 2023 World Series of Warzone drew a $1.2 million prize pool, and the tournament ran through September with a $600,000 final. The announcement for this year's tournament is still pending; likewise, information about the prize pool has yet to be released.

There are a few requirements for teams wanting to participate in the Warzone World Series.

Here's what is required:

  • Teams must be a trio, and they need valid GameBattles accounts.
  • On GameBattles, teams must register with WSOW and begin competing in the WSOW Trios playlist in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0.
  • There will be open qualifiers between the dates listed on the WSOW website.
  • Over time, teams will move up the ranks based on their results and progress through the stages to the global finals.

More and more "low-level" tournaments appear in the Warzone space, usually hosted by organizations such as OpTic and FaZe.

Summary

We told you about S-tier and A-tier tournaments. There are also B- and C-tier tournaments in CoD, where the prize funds are limited to ten thousand dollars. So far, there have been eight such tournaments.

Despite the few tournaments compared to CS2 and Dota2, the CoD esports scene is still famous.

And for game fans, developers were even going to develop its cinematic universe based on the Call of Duty series. You can read about it in our article.
