Ubisoft has allowed the esports organization Virtus.pro to use its original tag in Rainbow Six Siege.
“Since the start of the new 2023 season, the Virtus.pro esports club has received approval to participate in the Rainbow Six Esports competitive cycle under its own name. We will start the competition again as Virtus.pro,” said the organization statement.
Since Vitus.pro was owned by the Russian Mail.ru Group, which had fallen under sanctions after the Russian aggression in Ukraine, its teams had to participate in tournaments under a neutral flag and not represent the organization.
Subsequently, in September 2022, the organization officially changed ownership. Aram Karamanukyan became the new owner and CEO. The teams of the organization bit by bit regained the right to use the name Vitus.pro, but in CS:GO their squad still plays under the Outsider tag.
