Into the Breach has completed their lineup by adding Mohammad ‘BOROS’ Malhas to the team. After being sidelined from Falcons in February due to the team’s failure to qualify for PGL Major Copenhagen, Malhas is now returning to competitive play.
The 20-year-old is the final addition to the British organization’s revamped lineup, joining Owen ‘smooyaâ ‘ Butterfield, Nicolas ‘Keoz’ Dgus, former Guild Eagles duo Flatron ‘juanflatrooâ ‘ Halimi and Dionis ‘sinnopsyyâ ‘ Budeci, along with coach Gustavo ‘Juveâ ‘ Alexandre. ‘BOROS’ moves to Into the Breach from Falcons, where he has played since June 2023. He joined the Saudi organization after a successful year with Monte, and his outstanding skills at the BLAST.tv Paris Major and its Europe RMR contributed to the team’s quarter-final finish.
Following his time with the Falcons, his experience was somewhat disappointing due to initial roster instability and lackluster results. This led the organization to reevaluate their strategy as they looked ahead to 2024.
Falcons ambitious roster overhaul, combining ENCE’s core with award winners’ Magisk’ and ‘zonic’, hit a snag when the signing of ‘NiKo’ fell through at the last minute.
Falcons were without their Bosnian superstar for the Copenhagen Major RMR and qualifiers. They kept ‘BOROS’ on the active lineup but faced role conflicts and early discussions of team issues.
‘BOROS’ initially struggled to mesh with the team’s style during their BLAST Premier Spring Groups debut. However, he redeemed himself with a team-high 1.12 rating at IEM Katowice, helping his team secure a semi-final finish.
Falcons missed the PGL Major Copenhagen after exiting the Europe RMR with a 1-3 record. ‘BOROS’ averaged a 0.92 rating, and controversy later arose when a documentary revealed frustrations within the team about ‘BOROS’ switching his mouse between games and complaining about it during live matches.
After the team’s exit, he was benched and sidelined. His move to Into the Breach offers him a chance at redemption. The British organization called him its “star rifler,” and ‘BOROS’ will have the opportunity to prove himself worthy of that status as he aims to return to his previous level seen on Monte.
The team’s highly anticipated debut is shrouded in mystery, as their inaugural event date remains unknown due to the ongoing tournament break, which is set to continue until July 14th.
