The newest League of Legends patch is here, and by the looks of it, it will be the last one for 2024. Like all new updates, this one brings interesting changes in terms of skins, Champions updates, and more, so let’s dive in.

Increased AFK Detection and Easier Surrender
The first thing that’s new in the League of Legends Patch 14.24 is the AFK detection. Everyone knows how annoying it can be to have someone AFKing on your team because it ruins the game. Riot finally decided to do something about it by introducing a new AFK detection tech.
The idea behind the new change is to detect those who are AFK. What’s more, it should also help players surrender faster and easier than before, which means it will save time.
Riot announced that the AFK tool will consider people AFK when they are idling in the fountain or do not move for a specific period.
Mythic Shop Changes
Alongside the new AFK tool, the LoL Patch 14.24 also adds changes to the Mythic Shop. Prior to the new update, people could access those things by using Hextech chests and completely different milestones. Now, however, there is a section known as The Sanctum, which will be the new source of Mythic Essense.
Players who check this place will see that they can use the Ancient Spark currency to get something. Each spark will require 400 RP, and you have an 89.5% chance of receiving Mytrhic Essence, as well as additional options.
Nexus Finishers – The New Cosmetics & Visual Update to Viktor
Players can now get the new Nexus Finisher in the Mythic Shop. You can use this with every champion, and you will only see it once the game is over and if you win.
Another cosmetic change is related to Victor. The champion gets new skins, visuals and splash art. The idea is that he will resemble the Arcane character he’s based on.
Champion Changes
Alongside all of the changes in the League of Legends patch 14.24 mentioned so far, Riot also introduced buffs and nerfs to several champions. While it is advisable to check the full patch 14.24 changelog to see everything, we want to share some of the more interesting updates.
Rumble
One of the champions that gets interesting changes is Rumble. His Q (Flamespitter) now deals slightly more damage than before (60/90/120/150/180+(110% AP ((it was 100 before)(6/7/8/910% of the target’s HP). The champ’s W (Scrap Shield) is also slightly buffed (The AP is now 30% instead of 25%).
Rell
Another League of Legends champion who received buffs in 14.24 is Rell. For starters, his base HP is now 640 instead of 610, allowing him to be tankier than before.
Break the Mold now offers 3% resistance stolen instead of 2%, and the minimum steal is now between 1.5 and 3 instead of 1.2.
Lastly, we have Ferromancy: Crash Down. Instead of offering 15/40/65/90/115 (+12% of the maximum HP), the ability now offers 25/50/75/100/125 (+13% of the maximum HP).
Ambessa
Besides buffs, the Patch 14.24 in LoL also nerfed a lot of champions. Ambessa is probably one of the names that got “hurt” the most.
The champion’s Repudiation duration is now 1.5s instead of 2s, and the shield value is 50-320 instead of 85-350. Also, the AD bonus is down from 175% to 150%.
The second nerf is related to Lacerate. The ability’s base damage is the same, but the bonus AD is now 40/45/50/55/60% instead of 40/50/60/70/80%.
Viktor
Alongside the cosmetic changes to this champion, Riot also decided to adjust some of his stats in the League of Legends patch 14.24. Following the changes, Glorious Evolution now has 10 hex fragments instead of 5, and the takedown hex fragments are set to 20 instead of 25.
Siphon Power is now stronger, and the Gravity Field is slowing more than before. The problem is that the slow noy applies to all players affected by the ability, but it will take 2.5s before they get stunned. Also, the slow debuff itself is 0.25s instead of 1s.
Riot also fixed other small bugs around this champion.
Warwick
The last of the more interesting champion changes following the new League of Legends patch are related to Warwick. The champion’s base attack damage is now 63 instead of 65, and his Jaws of the Beast cast range is 365 instead of 350.
Moving on to Blood Hunt, the attack speed buff is now active for 2s instead of 0.75. With that said, you will only get the buff on the attack or spell that puts the target below the specific HP threshold.
The new League of Legends skins
The last important thing we need to point out is related to the new Arcane skins that the LoL 14.24 patch gave us access to. There are 5 of them in total, and players can also find 3x Chromas. As you can probably guess, these skins are inspired by the way the champions look in the show’s second season.
Here are the Arcane skins you can find:
- Vander Warwick
- Professor Heimerdinger
- Last Stand Ekko
- Savior Viktor
- Fractured Jinx
Warwick, Ekko, and Heimerdinger will have access to the Chroma effects. We expect these options to be very popular, so it will be interesting to see if Riot will add even more of them. Until that happens, make sure to follow Blix.gg for more details.
