NRG has revealed the acquisition of Alexander ‘br0’ Bro, who has been inactive since September 2024 when he was controversially sidelined by Astralis to accommodate Casper ‘cadiaN’ Møller prior to the BLAST Fall Final.
The Danish team’s starting lineup saw the return of ‘br0’ when Nicolai ‘device’ Reedtz was placed on the injured list prior to the PGL Shanghai Major. However, after the tournament in China, he did not remain with the team and became a free agent as he approached 2025.
He is on the verge of becoming the inaugural player from outside North America to join the NRG team, which is headed by Nick ‘nitr0’ Cannella.
The 22-year-old replaces Vincent ‘Brehze’ Cayonte, who was part of the NRG team from 2017 to 2019 and helped them reach the semi-finals of the StarLadder Major Berlin before moving to Evil Geniuses.
The 26-year-old made his comeback to NRG in November 2023, but the team has faced difficulties since, ending up in last place at the PGL Copenhagen Major RMR and getting eliminated even sooner in the Shanghai Major’s cycle by losing in the closed qualifier for the RMR.
