The second quarterfinal of IEM Katowice 2025 will be two CIS-based teams against each other, Virtus.pro against Spirit. The best team in the world, Spirit won the IEM Katowice 2024, and now they’re here to defend their title. Virtus. Pro did well at this tournament with their updated roster, but unfortunately, after reaching the playoff stage, their recent addition, ‘FL4MUS’, had to leave due to his visa running out. You can read more about the ‘FL4MUS’ situation here. Last time, these two teams met at BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024, and Spirit won with a score of 2-0.

Virtus.pro
They did more than what was expected from them at the start of IEM Katowice 2025. They took down G2 in their opening match with a score of 2-0, and then they also won against Eternal Fire. The only team that was able to stop them was Vitality. Unfortunately, all the results they got were done with ‘FL4MUS’, who is now out, and ‘mir’ will be playing instead of him. They played with him before, but still, it will be hard for them to play against top teams with a stand-in.
Spirit
They’re the best team in the world, but at this tournament, they lost one match against Natus Vincere in a Group Stage, but it didn’t seem to affect them since after that, they won two in a row and got their Playoff Stage spot. They won the recent tournament BLAST Bounty, and it was just two weeks ago, so they were and still are in top form. Their star player ‘donk’ was the best player even in a game which they lost against Na’Vi, so his form is out of this world, and he is delivering as he expected to. ‘sh1ro’ and ‘zont1x’ were the next ones after ‘donk’ on the scoreboard and they’re also in good form.
FL4MUS is sad about the visa situation

If it were Virtus.pro with a full roster, we would expect Spirit to win with any score. Since it will be even harder for Virtus.pro without their main player, we could try another bet. We expect Spirit to win this match with an exact score of 2-0 (Spirit maps handicap -1.5).
Can Virtus.pro make a miracle and win here after such an unfortunate coincidence, or will it be Spirit to keep dominating over teams they play against? We will have to see it this Friday at 15:45 CET!
