How to Craft Neutral Items in Dota 2?

Since the Dota 2 Patch 7.38 changed how Neutral Items work, you will now need to craft them. Before these items were dropped from the jungle camps, so you had to kill creeps to get them. This is no longer the case, however, because there is a completely new system now.
Nowadays, the Neutral Items have two main components:
- Artifacts
- Enchantments
Artifacts are the things that will give you the ability of the given item, and they can be passive or active. As for the Enchantment, they will provide you with passive attributes or stat upgrades.
If you want to craft Neutral Items in Dota 2, you will also need to get a new resource called Madstone. The latter is obtainable by clearing jungle camps, and each champ will grant 2 Madstones to the hero that cleaned it. Furthermore, someone from the team will receive 1 Madstone randomly. Once you have enough Madstones, you can craft an Artifact, and you can add the Enchantment.
Of course, Valve decided to add a limit to the number of Madstones you can have. Here is how it works:
- Up to 5 Madstones for killing neutral creeps from minute 5 onwards.
- Up to 15 Madstones for killing neutral creeps from minute 15 onwards
- Up to 25 Madstones for killing neutral creeps from minute 25 onwards
- Up to 35 Madstones for killing neutral creeps from minute 15 onwards
- Up to 45 Madstones for killing neutral creeps from minute 60 onwards
- No Madstone cap after 70 minutes of play
After collecting the Madstones, you will need to choose the Artifact you want and try to craft the item. There’s no arguing that the crafting process for the Dota 2 7.38 neutral items is more difficult, but it makes the game a lot more interesting. Players can come up with unique combinations to surprise their opponents.
The Arficats and Enchantments
The list of Neutral Artifacts that you can find in Dota 2 right now consists of loads of different items. You can find the complete list here, but we also want to include some of the more intriguing variations.
Artifacts
Here are some of the artifacts that you will find:
- Unrelenting Eye – A Tier 5 Neutral Artifact that provides 100% slow resistance. The bonus is down by 20% for every enemy hero that’s within 300 units.
- Stygian Desolator – A Tier 5 item that allows your attacks to reduce the target’s armor by 13 for 7s.
- Pirate Hat – Another T5 item that will give you Lesser Avatar when activated. This will apply a basic dispel and grant you 50% magic resistance and immunity to pure and reflected damage for 2s. The negative effect from the enemy’s spells will have no effect. This ability costs no mana and has a 40s cooldown.
Enchantments
What’s different about Enchantments when compared to the Artifacts is that some of them can work for different Tiers. For example, Alert, Brawny, Mystical, and several others are available in Tiers 1-4.
With that said, you can also find enchantments that are only available for Tier 5:
- Boundless – 150 range (for both melee and ranged) and +350 Cast Range
- Evolved – +40 Primary Stat
- Feverish – 15% cooldown reduction and +10% Mana Cost/Mana Loss Increase
- Wise – +600 Experience per Minute
- Audacious – +100 Attack Speed, +80 Magic Attack Damage, +10% Incoming Damage
- Fleetfooted – +115 Movement Speed
