Best Apex Legends Mouse Sensitivity: Find the Perfect Fit for You

Apex is a shooter – not surprisingly, the sensitivity for easier aiming is necessary for the gamer. Everything is simple. DPI is an indicator of the responsiveness of the computer mouse cursor according to its movements.

And in a game like Apex, it’s essential to understand how fast the in-game crosshair should move to play comfortably. This speed depends on the mouse settings.

To explain the importance of this feature and to give you an understanding of how to set it up, the Blix team did their research and wrote this guide.

We also have a detailed guide to the general Best Settings in Apex Legends for Maximum Productivity.

Factors to Consider When Choosing a Mouse Sensitivity

    • Playstyle. Your play style is one of the most important factors when choosing a mouse’s sensitivity.
      • If you play aggressively and often engage in close-quarters combat, you will need a higher sensitivity to quickly turn around and track targets.
      • If you play more cautiously and prefer to fire from long range, you will need a lower sensitivity to aim more accurately.
    • Monitor resolution. The higher your monitor resolution, the lower your mouse sensitivity will need to be to maintain the same ratio between the cursor and the object on the screen.
    • Screen size. The larger the screen, the lower your mouse sensitivity will need to be to maintain the same ratio between the cursor and the object on the screen.

Apex will be undergoing global changes in 2025, we wrote about it in the article The New Season in Apex Legends: Patch Note on February 11.

Choosing the right eDPI and DPI for your playstyle in Apex Legends

Apex Legends pro sensitivity pick rates

As for DPI and eDPI, the first of these indicators, the number of dots per linear inch, speaks precisely of the mouse sensitivity—the higher it is, the more sensitive the cursor will be.

But the second indicator means effective DPI. What should it be to make it comfortable to play? The first parameter determines it: multiply the DPI by the sensitivity level. For example, if the mouse has 800 DPI and the sensitivity is 1.3 inside the game, the eDPI will be 1040.

    Understanding DPI and eDPI

    • DPI is the number of pixels the cursor moves per inch of mouse movement. The higher the DPI = the faster the movement and vice versa.
    • eDPI is mouse sensitivity multiplied by the game’s settings. E.g., sensitivity exactly inside Apex.

First, let’s understand the difference between high and low mouse sensitivity.

    High sensitivity

High sensitivity allows you to play faster, and in dynamic games like Apex, it is beneficial – here, fast reaction is crucial. However, stability at long and medium ranges suffers significantly in collisions. You’ll need a lot of practice to get used to it.

    Lower sensitivity

Low sensitivity settings for players who prioritize accuracy and stability. This is suitable for long-distance play. But it’s worth noting that the same actions in the game may require more physical movements of the mouse, which slows down your reaction time.

Tips for Choosing eDPI and DPI

Typically, Apex uses these three values:

    Most commonly used DPIPercent
    80063%
    160016%
    40014%

The sensitivity you choose for Apex Legends should be low enough to deliver accurate headshots and fast enough to turn quickly and react to peripheral threats. The best sensitivity for Apex Legends will also vary depending on how you aim and the size of your mouse pad.

Setting the sensitivity to 1.8 at 800 DPI is recommended for players who prefer high sensitivity. This allows you to act more or less stable in duels at medium and long distances. At the same time, in close combat, the efficiency does not suffer either.

If you prefer low sensitivity, you need a strict resolution of 800 DPI but a sensitivity of 1.2.

The Blix team will leave you with two tips that can come in handy.

Tip #1. To determine your ideal mouse sensitivity, try performing a full swipe with your mouse on the mouse pad. Adjust your sensitivity until a full swipe on the mouse pad completely rotates your character 180 degrees in the game.
Tip #2. Try a sensitivity between 1.2 and 1.8. Statistics cannot predict personal preferences, and who knows what a particular person will like? To do this, the player needs to look in the settings menu. There is an item "Mouse/Keyboard"; the first item will be the mouse sensitivity. Other types of mouse acceleration should be turned off so they do not interfere with aiming.

How to adjust mouse sensitivity in Apex Legends

To adjust mouse sensitivity in Apex Legends:

    • Open the game settings
    • Go to the “Mouse/Keyboard” section
    • Here, you can adjust each weapon’s overall sensitivity, ADS sensitivity for each weapon, and ADS sensitivity.

Mouse Sensitivity for Standard DPI Gaming Mice

Below, we have calculated in-game sensitivity values for different mouse DPIs to achieve an eDPI of 1200.

    • 400 dpi: Players with a mouse DPI of 400 should consider an in-game sensitivity of 3.0 to achieve an eDPI of 1,200.
    • 800 dpi: Players with a mouse DPI of 800 must consider an in-game sensitivity of 1.5 to achieve an eDPI of 1,200.
    • 1200 dpi: Players with a mouse DPI of 1200 must consider an in-game sensitivity of 1.0 to achieve an eDPI of 1,200.
    • 1600 dpi: Players with a mouse DPI of 1600 must consider an in-game sensitivity of 0.75 to achieve an eDPI of 1,200.

    Overall Sensitivity:

    • Most players benefit from an overall sensitivity between 2 to 4. Start lower if you’re a beginner and gradually adjust to your comfort zone.

    ADS Sensitivity (Aiming Down Sights):

    • An ADS sensitivity ranging from 0.5 to 1.5 is recommended for general aiming.

Best Apex Mouse Sensitivity of the Stars

Suppose you desire to imitate the famous and successful. In that case, we recommend taking a model from several of your favorite players to see whose style of play feels better.

    • ImperialHal only plays at 1.1 low sensitivity: DPI 800. Mouse: FinalMouse Starlight Pro.
    • NAFEN plays at standard 1.8 high sensitivity: DPI 800. Mouse: FinalMouse Starlight-12
    • Albralelie – Mouse: Razer Viper V3 Pro Black.  DPI – 800, Mouse Sensitivity – 1.2
    • iiTzTimmy is one more player who prefers high-res. Mouse: Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 Black, DPI – 1800, mouse sensitivity: 0.8
    • chocoTaco – Mouse: VAXEE XE Wireless Black, DPI – 800, mouse sensitivity: 1.4
    • Lou – Mouse: FinalMouse Starlight-12, DPI – 400, mouse sensitivity: 2.5

But there is no point in mindlessly following the masters! Try to choose the best options. Only training will help you find and develop exactly those settings where you will be most pleasant and comfortable to play.

We can’t say that high sensitivity is good in Apex, nor can we berate low sensitivity. The only thing that is unequivocally bad is not exploring this topic further.

    FAQ

What Sensitivity is Best for Apex Legends?

Start with 800 DPI and see how it feels, then change it to suit your preferences.

    Can Sensitivity Help Your Aiming?

Lowering the sensitivity in Apex Legends can significantly improve your ability to aim and track targets. An eDPI of less than 1,000 is considered low.

Should I Have a High Sensitivity Apex Legends?

High sensitivity is helpful for movement, but playing with too high sensitivity can hurt accuracy and precision. An eDPI greater than 1,400 is considered high.
