Valve Began to Clean Case Farming Bots

Following the launch of the newest update in CS2, Valve began a significant crackdown on accounts engaged in farming new cases. As frequently occurs with the introduction of sought-after skins, farmers—operators of bot networks that automatically gather drops from numerous accounts and promptly list them for sale—become active. Last night, Valve executed a significant elimination of accounts involved in skin farming. The bans were applied manually, after a thorough review of questionable account behaviors, rather than through automated processes.

    VAC Bans for Case Farming

A well-known farmer lost 179 of his 333 accounts after using them for only six months. Given the extent of the removal, this marks just the start of a new series of actions against farmers, who have long been viewed as a significant issue within the community.

The widespread ban wave occurred simultaneously with Valve’s spring update release in CS2, which rolled out on April 1. The update brought three new collections, the Fever Case featuring 17 skins and enhanced versions of the Inferno and Train maps. Additional information regarding the update can be found at this link.
