Jagex Studios announced in late March the cooperative survival game RuneScape: Dragonwilds in the universe of the cult online RPG RuneScape.
A live update from the developers was scheduled before the game’s release to share details about it, including its coveted release date. But we were outplayed and destroyed when the game suddenly went into early access on April 15.
Yes, yes. Until a couple of weeks ago, we only wrote about the released trailer in the article RuneScape: Dragonwilds has been Announced, and today, we can already play it. The game is already available on Steam and costs $29.99.
Despite the lack of clear promotion and the release in the middle of the work week, Dragonwilds online has reached 40 thousand players and continues to grow. Players warmly received the novelty, complaining only about bugs, soapy graphics, lousy optimization, and tedious grind, which is brightened only by the developed magic system.
The developers have already revealed their development plans for the game. They are preparing new regions, quests, enemies, skills, and other content for Dragonwilds. Improvements to the combat system, weather conditions, performance, and tutorial levels are also planned. Gradually, the maximum number of heroes will increase, and eventually, there will be a hardcore mode.
So far, the upcoming updates have no set dates, and the timing of the full release is also unknown. Presumably, RuneScape: Dragonwilds will reach version 1.0 in 2026.
