After four years of anticipation, Riot Games has officially announced the pre-registration launch for Valorant Mobile, significantly expanding it to a larger audience. The announcement was made during Tencent Spark 2025, sending excitement to the mobile community and bringing the real Valorant to the palm of their hands.
Riot Games confirmed its collaboration with Lightspeed Studios, famously known for its work on PUBG Mobile, to develop Valorant Mobile and ensure smooth and quality gameplay time. Anna Donlon, Head of VALORANT Studios, expressed her confidence in Lightspeed Studios, stating that they “captured the essence of VALORANT like nobody else” from the first demo. She emphasized their alignment with Riot’s values and capability to deliver the core experiences that make Valorant special.
For now, the pre-registration and playtest are only available for China and will eventually expand to other regions. Riot Games says that China has one of the biggest Mobile Gaming communities in the world, and it only makes sense to start there, where their mobile expertise shines, before we finalize our plans to expand to other regions.

The Chinese Launch and Global Aspirations
While the first launch is limited to China only, Riot Games assured that Valorant Mobile will be available to every player possible. The decision to start in China allows them to leverage Lightspeed’s local expertise and fine-tune the game for a global audience.
Players in China can sign up for the playtest. Participants can earn an exclusive player card by completing in-game missions, giving early players a layer of engagement and reward.
What to Expect from Valorant Mobile
Valorant Mobile Gameplay
The previous early development gameplays of Valorant Mobile showcased the same agents and core gameplay mechanics as other platforms. They also showed how the controls work with adaptive buttons, similar to other mobile games.
What’s nice about Valorant Mobile is how it ensures that it caters to each agent’s unique playstyle. Instead of a one-size-fits-all control scheme, the game features adaptive controls that change based on the agent played, giving a more personalized and immersive experience. For instance, the jump button can turn into a spin attack while playing with a specific agent, and directional control will shift from strafing to a more precise multi-directional joystick for agents with specific abilities.
Positive Fan Reception
Despite the regional limitation on the test play, Valorant Mobile has received a welcoming, positive reaction from the community. Many enthusiastic players commented under the official X post that the game looks identical to the PC version. And many praised Riot Games for their work on this game, revealing their excitement for the official launch.
Can Valorant Mobile Dominate the Mobile FPS Market?
It’s early to predict how the game will perform on a massive launch, but based on the Valorant console release and how the players loved the game, it is fair to say that this game will also reach a milestone in the mobile market, competing with big titles such as Call of Duty: Mobile and PUBG Mobile. With the time and resources Riot Games put into this project, Valorant Mobile will soon become many players’ favorite mobile game.
