Just a few hours after Valve announced all of the directly-invited Dota 2 teams for The International 2025, we got some more interesting news. A Reddit post has shown that Dota 2 received a staging server update, which means we are about to see something big.
Dota 2 Staging Update – A New Patch, Event, or Something Else?
It’s not every day that Dota 2 gets a staging server update. Based on a Reddit post, however, this happened just a few hours ago, which means that we are about to see something big.
While we can’t be certain what Valve has in store for us, we at Blix.gg believe that the change will most likely be related to a new event. Skimming through Reddit’s comments reveals that many people think the same. Some believe that we are about to see a completely new event that will feel like Crownfall. Others believe that we will have something entirely new that we have not seen before.
With that said, some players strongly believe that the changes in the Dota 2 staging server will be related to the 7.38d Dota 2 patch. This is a possibility because the current patch has been live for several months now, and we have already seen tons of events. In fact, the next one is DreamLeague Season 26 and it begins just a few days from now. It will be intriguing to see if we will see any of the things in our Dota 2 Patch Wishlist article.
Although all of the options mentioned so far are a possibility, we also think that the new changes might be related to The International. It is true that there are a few months left until one of Dota 2’s biggest events of the year. However, consider Valve wants to promote it, we may get the chance to see a Compendium, Fantasy Challenge or something else earlier than usual.
It will be interesting to see what Vavle has in store for us, so remember to follow us for more information.
