Dota 2 Patch 7.39 – General Updates
Starting with the general updates, the Dota 2 7.39 patch includes all kinds of small things that will make a difference. We can’t include everything, but here is an overview of some of the more important tweaks you need to be aware of:
- The first Tournamentor will spawn between Min 15 and Min 20.
- Roshan’s abilities got buffed, meaning bringing him down is a bit more difficult.
- There are many terrain changes all over the map. We suggest taking a look at the official page and checking the in-game map to see them, as there are too many to include in this article.
- Spell and Lifesteam Amplification have been removed from the game, and we now have access to Health Restoration.
- Heal Amplification can’t go lower than -100% and has no upper limit.
Item Updates
The next aspect we want to cover is the 7.39 item changes. We will begin with some of the more important changes about the regular items, followed by a few words about the Neutral Items.
- Kaya – No longer adds 20% spell lifesteal amp. Also, mana regen amp is down from +50% to +40%.
- Eye of Skadi – This item will require 2x Ultimate Orbs (instead of a Point Booster) and no longer has a 1050 gold recipe, costing 5900 instead of 5300. The item will no longer offer +250 HP and Mana but will have +35 to all stats instead of +22.
- Glimmer Cape’s magic resistance bonus is now 20% instead of 25%, and the glimmer barrier is bumped to 375 instead of 300.
- Radiance – The evasion bonus is down from +20% to +15%.
Neutral Items
We have already covered some of the new Neutral Items that players will have access to in our Spring Forward 2025 article. With that said, there are many other important Neutral Item changes that you need to be aware of. Let’s analyse some of them.
- Mana Draught is now a Tier 2 item instead of Tier 1. Also, the Bottoms Up base mana restored is 60 instead of 30, and the Dormant Curio increases max mana restore from 4% to 5.2%.
- Poor Man’s Shield – One of the most legendary items is finally back, and it’s a Ti2 item. It grants a 50% chance to block 30 damage from melee attacks or 20 damage from ranged attacks (the effect is 100% against heroes).
Mind Breaker, Ceremonial Robe, and Ogre Seal Totem are no longer available in the game. The same is true for Magic Lamp and Pirate Hat.
Hero Updates

The 7.39 Dota 2 patch brings tons of hero changes. It is impossible to include everything new because there are loads of things to talk about, so we will try to include some of the more interesting updates.
Abaddon
The hero has a new facet called Malignant Mist. It allows Mist Coul to deal with up to 100% of his attack damage and apply all the effects from different items and abilities. Aside from that, the hero’s Mist Coil is no longer upgraded with Aghanim’s Shard. Aphotic Shield, however, will deal 75% of the absorbed damage to nearby enemies.
Lastly, Abaddon’s Withering Mist now reduces Health Restoration by 35%.
Batrider
Valve attempted to resurrect Batrider from the dead by reworking a lot of his abilities, including his two Facets.
The first one is called Stoked and it allows Firefly to set Batrider on fire. Doing this will cause him losing 2% of his base HP per second, but he will gain more MS and spell amp.
Arsonist, his 2nd facet, is also different because it allows you to have up to 5x Stacky Napalm stacks and lets you get +2 attributes a total of 7 times instead of 6.
Sticky Napalm’s ability now adds 2 stacks on cast and has a limit of 20 stacks instead of 10. However, the damage per stack values are halved.
Bloodseeker
BS has a new facet called Old Blood. It gives Bloodrage 25% damage amp instead of spell amp. Moreover, the ability silences the target and can be used on enemies. It will also cost 60 mana.
Other than that, BS has some small talent changes.
Clockwerk
Perhaps one of the most bizarre changes in the Dota 2 patch 7.39 is related to Clockwerk. The hero has a new Facet called Chainmeal, and as it suggests, it lets you self-cast the Chainmail item and consume it. Each one will give +4 armor, and there is no limit to the number of stacks. This Facet is powerful and can make Clockwerk almost impossible to kill.
Aside from that, Clockwerk’s level 20 talent now provides +70 Power Cogs Mana Burn or +75 Rocket Flare Damage.
Disruptor
Disruptor now has 3 facets, and one of them is Transferrence (it’s new in this patch). It increases the max level of Electromagnetic Repulsion to 4, and it improves with Static Storm. Electromagnetic Repulsion can be activated and will deal damage equal to 10% of Disruptor’s current HP.
Alongside that, Disruptor’s Thunder Strike is also different because Aghanim’s Shard dormant duration is now 4s instead of 5s.. His talents also got minor tweaks.
Conclusion & Honorable Mentions
As mentioned, the 7.39 Dota 2 patch comes with tons of hero changes, and we only covered some of them. Heroes like Earthshaker, Invoker, Kez, and Nature’s Prophet also got many significant changes, so we highly recommend learning more about them.
It will be exciting to see how the meta will change, so we at Blix.gg will keep an eye on everything. Don’t forget that we are in the middle of DreamLeague Season 26, so definitely keep an eye on the pro teams and how they adapt to the new meta.
