If you want to watch the LCK in action, you will have to wait a couple of weeks. Following the end of the LoL MSI and the Esports World Cup, LoL fans will have access to the LCK rounds 3-5. This became clear following a post from Riot Games, so let’s learn more about it.
LCK Rounds 3-5 Reveal
According to our information, the last phase of the LCK will begin on July 23. The matches will follow the classic schedule and include a Bo3 clash that will start at 5 PM KST. After that, the second round will begin at around 7 PM.
In terms of the opening rounds, we will see a lot of big teams, such as:
- Gen.G
- Hanwha Life Esports
- OKSavingsBank BRION
- Dplus KIA
The clash between Gen.G and Hanwha Life Esports will be something that definitely deserves more attention, so we can’t wait to see what’s going to happen.
Format & Schedule
In terms of the LCK format, we will have 10 teams split into two groups based on what happened in Rounds 1-2. The best 5 teams will be in the Legend Group, whereas the others will be in the Rise Group. An important thing to remember is that teams will keep their records from the previous rounds. In other words, there won’t be a reset. As mentioned, all matches will be in best-of-three.
Once the LCK phase is over, the best 4 teams from the Legend Group will advance to the Season Playoffs. Those who finish at the bottom and the best 3 teams from the Rise Group will move to the Play-In Stage. Sadly, the bottom two teams from the Rise Group will be eliminated from the event.
When it’s time for the Play-In, we will have a double-elimination bracket with Bo5 matches. Only two teams will advance to the Playoffs, where they will join the rest, meaning we will have 6 teams playing in a double-elimination format that will include Seeds 1 and 2.
Lastly, we have the final bracket, where one team will win the 2025 LCK and receive a slot for Worlds 2025. Keep in mind that this region may have a lot more representatives at Worlds 2025 because the best teams can reach the MSI final.
In terms of the LCK Rounds 3-5, the matches will run from July 23 to August 1. Once done, we will have to wait for the Play-in Stage (September 3 to 7) and the Playoffs, which will start on September 10. Lastly, we have the Grand Final, which will be on September 28.
