Spirit has revealed the acquisition of Ivan ‘zweih’ Gogin, promptly taking action to fill the spot left by Boris ‘magixx’ Vorobiev, who was recently sidelined.
‘zweih’ joins Spirit after spending a year with Nemiga, where he established himself as one of the emerging talents in the Russian-speaking gaming community.
Spirit Announcement
At the beginning of his journey, ‘zweih’ was crucial to Nemiga’s strong performances in lower-tier online competitions, finishing second in the ESL Challenger League and winning the Hellcase Cup. Later in 2024, he became the best player during their LAN victory at the RES Regional Champions.
By 2025, ‘zweih’ had established himself as Nemiga’s top player, highlighted by his leading ratings in BLAST Bounty S1 and ESL Pro League Stage 1, where he stood out for his team against strong competition.
His emergence as a standout player occurred towards the conclusion of the season, as the young talent shone during Nemiga’s surprising journey to Stage 3 of the BLAST.tv Austin Major. zweih’s ratings of 1.21 and 1.28 in Stages 1 and 2, respectively, were significantly higher than those of his teammates and ranked among the finest of all players in the competition.
‘zweih’ accomplished all this success as an anchor, positioning him as a perfect choice for Spirit, who replaced the small-site anchor ‘magixx’ with the 17-year-old. ‘zweih’ will be aiming to meet the expectations of his new teammate Danil ‘donk’ Kryshkovets, who designated ‘zweih’ as his Bold Prediction in the previous year’s HLTV Top 20.
Spirit roster is as follows:
- Leonid ‘chopper’ Vishnyakov
- Dmitry ‘sh1ro’ Sokolov
- Myroslav ‘zont1x’ Plakhotia
- Danil ‘donk’ Kryshkovets
- Ivan ‘zweih’ Gogin
- Sergey ‘hally’ Shavaev (coach)
- Boris ‘magixx’ Vorobiev (benched)
