G2 Esports, FlyQuest, Hanwha Life, and KOI Made it out of the Group Stage
Before discussing the LOL EWC 2025 Playoffs, it’s time to take a quick look at what happened in the Group Stage. Just a day after the arrival of the LoL Patch 25.14, we saw several epc matches. Now that everything is over, we know the names of the teams that made it.
Starting with Group A, we will see G2 Esports and FlyQuest in the Playoffs. G2 Esports had no problems after defeating FURIA and GlyQuest and won the first slot. The North American team, on the other hand, won its first clash against Cloud9 but lost the match against G2 Esports. This required the team to play in the LB Final, where it defeated FURIA.
Moving on to Group B, Hanwha Life and KOI were the two squads that made it to the cut. As expected, Hanwha Life had no problems in the games against CTBC Flying Oyster and KOI. As for the latter, KOI defeated GAM Esports and then had to deal with CTBC Flying Oyster to secure its slot for the Playoffs.
Playoffs
Now that the Group Stage is over, it’s time to focus on the LOL EWC 2025 Playoffs. We have already seen two epic matches because Bilibili Gaming lost against G2 Esports, and Hanwha Life got eliminated after losing to AG.AL.
Today, we will see two more quarterfinal games – Gen.G vs FlyQuest and T1 vs KOI. It’s safe to say that both matches will be epic because these are some of the best LoL teams at the EWC 2025.
Starting with the first clash, there is no arguing that Gen.G Esports is the big favorite. After winning the MSI 2025, the squad is in an excellent position to lift this trophy as well. If it defeats the NA squad, Gen.G will have to play against G2 Esports, the team that shocked the world by defeating the Chinese powerhouse Bilibili Gaming.
As for the second Quarterfinal, we will have T1 vs KOI. T1 let its fans down a few days ago after losing the MSI final, but the team is eager to defend its EWC trophy. KOI is a dangerous opponent, but most people agree that T1 will be the favorite in this clash. If the South Korean squad wins, it will face AG.AL in the Semifinal.
Closing Thoughts
Considering how things are going, we can see a replay of the MSI 2025 Grand Final between Gen.G Esports and T1. One thing is sure – the League of Legends Esports World Cup 2025 has tons of excellent series, so make sure you don’t miss something.
