FISSURE Universe: Episode 7 is going to be the first Dota 2 tournament after the end of TI14. It is a part of the FISSURE Universe series and will be an online tournament taking place in Europe. With that said, the event is different from what we’ve seen because the rules are weird, so let’s check all of them.

FISSURE Universe: Episode 7 – Format & Overview
The FISSURE Universe: Episode 7 will feature a $250,000 prize pool, distributed among the top teams. The tournament will have a Group Stage, where we will see two groups of five teams in each. Once the event begins, the matches here will be in a Bo2 format and the top two squads from each group will go to the Playoffs. The remaining three teams will no longer be a part of the competitions.
The Playoffs will have a classic Bo3 double-elimination bracket and a Bo5 Grand Final. What’s different here is that we will see 4 additional teams (aside from those from the Group Stage). These 4 squads (which we do not have information about yet) will play directly in the Playoffs and will face the group winners.
The FISSURE Universe: Episode 7 group stage will take place between October 5-8, while the Playoffs will be held between October 9-12.
The Teams at FISSURE Universe: Episode 7
As mentioned, the situation with the Dota 2 teams that will take part in this event is very interesting. We will have 14 teams in total, but so far, we only know the names of 10 and these are the squads that will be in the Group Stage:
- MOUZ
- Runa Team
- Virtus.Pro
- AVULUS
- Yellow Submarine
- 1w Team
- OG
- Team Yandex
- L1GA TEAM
Overall, we can conclude that almost all of them are technically Tier 2 Dota 2 teams (currently). This means that the other 4 squads that will receive an invitation should be some of the more prominent teams.
In terms of those that we are currently aware of, MOUZ, OG and Virtus.Pro seems like the three big favorites. VP recently announced it will drop its CIS roster after it introduced a new team. MOUZ and OG also made significant roster changes, so we expect them to give their all.
