It is time to get ready for Worlds 2025 with the League of Legends Patch 25.20. This will be the defining patch that will host League of Legends Worlds 2025, the most important tournament of the year. As always, Riot prepared some interesting changes that we will go over, so let’s begin.

World’s Patch
The entire concept of the LoL Patch 25.20 is to make sure that World’s 2025 goes as smoothly as possible. Riot is “taking great care to ensure the patch’s changes jive with both pro players and the rest of us at home”.
To make the patch feel more special, Riot added a new Summoner’s Cup on the top lane.
Also, Trials of Twilight Xin Zhao will be this year’s Esports revenue share skin. This means that a portion of the funds Riot generates from he skin will go to Leagues and teams in the LoL Esports ecosystem.
Players will also have access to 60 brand new emotes that will cost 350 RP each. It will also be possible to pick a 2025 team icon for 250 RP. Doing this will add the team’s first three-letter acronym to your in-game name.
Streaming Mode and Banning Allied Hovers
Riot decided that the 25.20 LoL patch will finally improve Streamer Mode. The company upgraded it, which means that players should experience less game ruining as before. The new mode will have three submodes that you can choose from:
- Hide Other Names – This will hide the names of other players on your screen.
- Hide My Name – As its name suggests, it will hide your game name and RiotID.
- Hide My Everything – This hides pretty much any information that can give away you are a streamer.
In terms of banning allied hovers, Riot decided to experiment by removing the ability to ban your ally’s hovered champion. Keep in mind that these changes will only be on NA and OCE for now.
League of Legends Patch 25.20 Champion Changes
Considering this is the Worlds 2025 patch, Riot had to be careful with the buffs and nerfs. As always, there are tons of changes that you need to be familiar with, so take the time to check the official changelog for more details. Here are some of the changes that we believe are more interesting:
- Azir – The champion’s AP Ratio is now lower on levels 1 and 2 but higher on levels 3 and 4. Recharge Rate is a bit more early on and his Damage to Additional Targets has been rescaled. Shifting Sands also received changes and now deals slightly more damage than before.
- Camille – Camille’s laning stage was a hit or miss, so Riot decided to reduce her base armor from 5 to 4.5. Outside of that, her W now has slightly lower cooldown and deals more base damage.
- Fizz – His W now deals more damage, but his DoT no longer affects structures. It also has more active burst and on-hit damage. The champion’s R also deals more damage overall.
Arena Changes
The LoL Patch 25.20 continues to address different champions in the Arena. Riot decided to nerf some of them and buff certain names, such as the poke champions “that have been struggling to perform”. We recommend skimming through the full update to see everything new because there are a lot of small changes.
Icon Rarity & Emote Searching Upgrades
Patch 25.20 will also focus on a few small upgrades. For starters, you will have the chance to search for emotes in your emote library based on the champion’s name. Riot will also update some icon rarity so that they can match the rarity level of their associated skins.
New Skins & Chromas
Alongside the information mentioned so far, Riot Games will also introduce new skins and chromas for League of Legends. We will have access to the following skins:
- Flora Fatalis Lissandra
- Trials of Twilight Xin Zhao
- Flora Fatalis Fiddlesticks
- Flora Fatgalis Soraka
In terms of chromas, LoL players can use Flora Fatalis Lissandra, Fiddlesticks and Soraka, as well as Trials of Twilight Xin Zhao. We will also have iG Camille, Fiora, Irelia, Kai’Sa, LeBlanc, Rakan, Gnar, Ezrael, Rakan, Jarvan IV, Xayah, and Taliyah.
Other Changes
As always, the League of Legends Patch 25.20 also introduced various bug fixes and quality of life changes. For example, the bug where Jinx’s W AoE VF did not play correctly when killing an enemy has been resolved. There are also improvements to the spectator mode, as well as the custom game.
Worlds 2025 starts soon, so don’t forget to follow us for more details.
