T1 defeated its Chinese counterparts at the Worlds 2025 Play-In stage and will take part in the Swiss Stage. We saw an epic match, but in the end, Faker and his crew will try to defend their trophy.
T1 vs Invictus Gaming: Full Series Recap
The Invictus Gaming vs T1 series started with a victory for the current Worlds champion. T1 grabbed the lead very early on and even though iG tried bouncing back in the mid-game, it was not enough to stop the Koreans from taking the lead.
After losing the first match, Invictus Gaming had to step up their game, and they did. The team had an excellent start and got a comfortable draft around Orianna that gave them the victory. It was definitely not a walk in the park, as this was the longest game of the series, but in the end, the team emerged victorious.
After equalising the match, T1 took matters into their own hands and annihilated their opponents two games in a row. The third map had more back-and-forth action, but the fourth one was a one-team show.
Even though everyone from T1 played extremely well, we can all agree that Oner was on another level. That is the reason why he deserved the MVP award for the match.
What’s Next for T1?
The victory allows T1 to join the remaining 15 teams at Worlds 2025 and take part in the Swiss Stage format. The reigning champions will do everything in their power to defend their trophy, but it won’t be easy, as every team will want to take it from them.
