Worlds 2025 came to a close, and T1 was, once again, at the top. Against all odds, Faker and his crew ripped through their opponents and secured another important victory. Now that the dust has settled, it is time to take a look back at some of the top picks and bans at Worlds 2025. Let’s see what the numbers have to say.

Most Banned Champions at Worlds 2025

Starting with the champions that everyone wants to avoid, Yunara is leading the way with 57 bans. She became the least-favorite hero at Worlds 2025 and many teams avoided her as the plague. We wouldn’t say we were surprised because the most recently-added LoL hero has been dominating ever since she joined LoL.

The second place on the list, with 54 bans, goes to Azir. He was also one of these champions that most people did not want to mess with. Again, he has been on the rise for a few months prior to the tournament, so most experts expected him to be on the “naughty” list.

Orianna is the third LoL champion that most Worlds 2025 teams did not want to see in action. She received 45 bans in total. An interesting fact is that Poppy, the next champion on the list, also got the same number of bans.

Orianna’s strong mid-lane control makes her a safe pick, meaning that most teams would prefer not to go up against her. Another reason why the champion was often targeted was because of the patch. Worlds 2025’s patch did nerf her W slightly, but we can all agree it was not enough to remove her from the meta. Consequently, many teams preferred not to take any chances and decided to focus on something else.

Most Picked Champions at Worlds 2025

After taking a look at some of the most-banned champions, it is time to do the same for the most popular picks. There were definitely a few names that stood out, so we’d like to start with Xin Zhao.

Based on the stats, he appeared in 29 matches and achieved an impressive win rate of 62.07%. Everyone who’s been following LoL’s professional meta knows that the champion is just among the best in the current lineup. His passive and gap-closers allow them to be very effective at making plays in the early and mid-game. Considering this is a meta where junglers can make a difference early on and secure different objectives, Xin Zhao fits well into everything.

Beyond the early game, Xin Zhao is great for both peeling and engaging. This flexibility is key in pro drafts, so it explains why teams are more than happy to get him under their belt. He can make a difference since he is reliable; most teams at Worlds preferred to pick something they can trust.

Moving on to the second spot on the list, we have K’Sante. He had the chance to play in 27 matches in total, which is impressive. What’s not that impressive, however, is his win rate, which is sitting at 33.33%.

It’s true that the Worlds 2025 meta for the top lane focused heavily on champions that are tankier and can engage. This placed K’Sante in a solid position, but it seems like most opponents found ways of dealing with him. Despite that, he remained a comfortable pick for most Worlds 2025 teams.

The last of the top picks at Worlds 2025 was Alistar, and the champion appeared in 25 matches. This is one of those champions that is solid when it comes to engaging and has a strong disruptive tool. The W + Q combo allows him to force fights and disrupt the enemy’s backline. Needless to say, this has proven highly effective at Worlds 2025.

Another reason why Alistar was so popular is the way he can sync with many compositions. It is easy to place him alongside a lot of ADCs and team-oriented combos, making him a valuable pick in drafts.

Final Thoughts: Worlds 2025 Draft Trends & What Comes Next

Worlds 2025 is over, and LoL fans are slowly preparing for the upcoming big tournaments. We expect to see a significant meta change once the latest LoL patch drops, so make sure to follow us for more details. It will also be intriguing to follow T1’s results in the upcoming events to see if the squad’s performance is improved after winning Worlds 2025.
