As expected, Team Liquid decided to make an important roster change two months after the end of TI 2025. The squad decided to part ways with Jonas “SabeRLight-” Volek as he joined Virtus.Pro.
Team Liquid Parted Ways with SabeRLight- as he Joined Virtus.Pro
SabeRLight- spent around one year with the Western European powerhouse after joining in late 2024. Even though this is not a long time, he impressed everyone with his performance and helped the team win three big events – PGL Wallachia Season 3 and 4, and FISSURE Universe: Episode 5. Liquid also finished 2nd at ESL One Bangkok 2024 and 3rd place at PGL Wallachia Season 5.
Despite these impressive results, it seems like the offlaner could not fit into the lineup. Liquid was one of the main favorites to lift the Aegis this year, but things did not work well because the squad was eliminated early on. Following this result, the organization decided to bench SabeRLight– and loan him out to AVULUS. He played around a month there and is now officially a part of Virtus.Pro.
Team Liquid will most likely not add any new players because the team already has a complete roster. Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard will be the one who will replace SabeRLight as the new offlaner, so it will be interesting to see if he’ll be able to achieve the same results.
As for Virtus.Pro, the team’s new roster looks like this:
- Enzo “Timado” Gianoli
- Abed “Abed” Yusop
- Jonas “SabeRLight-” Volek
- Vladislav “Antares” Kertman
- Tal “Fly” Aizik
VP definitely has a solid roster on paper, but we will need to wait to see if it can actually do something once it starts playing. There are several big Dota 2 tournaments ahead of us, so make sure to follow us for more details.
