Team Spirit is one of the big favorites in every Dota 2 tournament it plays in and Denis “Larl” Sigitov is among the big reasons why. Sadly, he won’t be able to play for his team in the upcoming Dota 2 tournaments for 2026.
Larl will Miss Out on Several Dota 2 Events
Team Spirit will begin the 2026 Dota 2 competitive season soon, but it seems like the squad will have problems. Earlier today, the organization announced that Denis “Larl” Sigitov won’t be playing for the team due to personal reasons. He will miss the following three Dota 2 events:
- FISSURE Universe
- BLAST Slam VI
- DreamLeague Season 28
Larl has been a major part of Team Spirit’s roster in the last couple of years. He became one of the most recognizable midders in the world and a name that everyone respects.
Filling in his shoes won’t be easy, but Team Spirit has already found a replacement for these events. Merat “Mirele” Gazetdinov will be the one who will step in for the two-time TI winners.
Mirele is a 20-year-old Russian Dota 2 superstar who became somewhat popular in 2025. He played for several big teams as a stand-in, including the likes of Yellow Submarine. He was also a part of RABOTYAGI.
An interesting fact is that Mirele already stood in for Team Spirit before. He had to replace Larl at FISSURE Universe: Episode 6, an event where the EEU powerhouse finished second after losing to Team Spirit.
What can we Expect from Team Spirit?
The absence of Larl is definitely something that we have to take into consideration. Even though Team Spirit has proven that it can do well without him, we expect the absence to have a negative effect. Make sure to follow us for more details.
