Wildcard has recently changed their roster by signing Love ‘phzy’ Smidebrant and Tim ‘susp’ à ngström, both hailing from Sweden. This move comes after parting ways with Adam ‘Grizz’ Golden and AWPer Keller ‘SLIGHT’ Nilan. With these signings, Wildcard has restored its roster to total capacity.
Following recent developments, the team has made the decision to bring on Vincent ‘vinS’ Jozefiak as their new coach. Vincent joins from Anonymo and HONORIS, stepping into the role previously held by Brazilian coach João ‘horvy’ Horvath.
During the first half of 2024, Peter ‘stanislaw’ Jarguz’s team faced significant challenges due to intense domestic competition from formidable opponents such as M80 and Nouns.
The team had a single win at the PGL Americas RMR but faced losses against RED Canids and M80. Due to last-minute changes at IEM Chengdu, Wildcard exited in 13-16th place.
Wildcard achieved a significant milestone by earning a spot in ESL Pro League Season 20 in September. This accomplishment came as a result of their impressive runner-up finish in ESL Challenger League Season 47 towards the end of the season.
Even with two Swedish players and a Polish coach, the team can still compete in the Americas RMR because they don’t have a majority of their lineup from a single region.
