PARIVISION has appointed Ivan ‘F_1N’ Kochugov as the new head coach of their CS2 team. This will be the Russian’s first coaching role in 2024. The 40-year-old will be taking over the position that has been vacant since Gregory’ balblna’ Oleinick stepped down in September 2023. A former CS player, ‘F_1N’ transitioned to coaching in 2017 after competing with the Virtus.pro squad that secured third place at ESWC 2004. ‘F_1N’ had the opportunity to work alongside talented players such as Dmitry’ sh1roâ ‘ Sokolov, Sergey’ Ax1Le’Rykhtorov, and Vladislav’â nafanyâ ‘Gorshkov in the CS:GO scene, initially with Gambit Youngsters before transitioning to the main Gambit roster.
He has been jobless since December when Cloud9 disbanded their academy squad after only four months.
‘F_1N’ has taken over a team that now has only four players remaining after the in-game leader Andrey ‘Jerry’ Mekhryakov resigned for personal reasons, mentioning burnout as a primary factor.
With PARIVISION ranked 47th in Europe in Valve’s Regional Standings, ‘F_1N’ says the team will need to work hard to have a chance at qualifying for the Shanghai Major.
