According to sources with knowledge of the negotiations, BLIX understands that Mexican esports organization Six Karma is in talks to sign a new squad led by Brazilian player Tassus “reduct” Issi. The former MIBR captain has been in the process of shopping around a roster consisting of himself alongside Caetano “Nyjl” Curbello, Kaique “Faallz” Moreira, Nicolas “NearZ” Fresnal and Swag.
The first two player were former teammates of reduct on MIBR, with the trio lasting for five months until May 16 when Faallz was benched from the squad. The other two pieces, NearZ and Swag last played for Atualizado Team, with the team recently attempting, unsuccessfully, to qualify for the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta 2023 via the Brazil League 2023 – Stage 2 Last Chance Qualifier.
This signing signals a change in strategy for Six Karma, as the organization has previously focused on the Mexican scene, recently fielding a squad in LATAM League 2023 – Stage 2 LCQ that fell short of qualifying for the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta 2023 after a 2-0 loss to eventual winners Knights.
Sources indicate that Six Karma was not the only LATAM organization to be interested in the Brazilian quintet.
Should Six Karma close on the squad, they would head into the 2024 season with:
- Tassus “reduct” Issi
- Caetano “Nyjl” Curbello
- Kaique “Faallz” Moreira
- Nicolas “NearZ” Fresnal
- “Swag”
