What are the essential callouts for Sunset?

In Valorant it’™s crucial to know all the maps and their unique features. Be it the teleporters on Bind or the circular structure of Fracture. The higher the rank you reach, the more necessary it is to recognize and understand each callout. Callouts help a player know where the enemy might be located or last seen without forcing them to look at the map.

With Valorant’™s newest map Sunset now in the ranked map pool, let’™s take a look at the crucial callouts you should know when playing on this map.

    Contents

    • 1 B Market
    • 2 Mid Tiles
    • 3 Mid Top
    • 4 A Elbow
    • 5 A Link

    B Market

The first callout which is ideal to know is B Market. From the defenders’ point of view this is present on the left hand side of B Site. On this map B Site has two entry points attackers can use to enter into the site; it’™s worth noting that to enter through B Market players have to clear the middle of the map. Similar to Ascent, on Sunset many of the aim duels are seen in the middle. Another thing to note about this part of the map is there’™s a trap drop available, also similar to the trapdoor in Ascent on either site. This door can be broken down and is mainly used to stop entry into B Market from mid. Gaining control over this part of the map can help in initiating a late push into B Boba and catch the enemies off guard.

    Mid Tiles

Talking about how crucial the middle of the map is, the next callout is Mid Tiles, situated on the left hand side of Mid Courtyard. This part of the map acts as a link for defenders to go into A Site through the middle. Gaining control of this part of the map stops a lot of the typical defender rotations. By being aggressive and focusing on the backstab, one can stop them in their tracks simply by being present here. Ideally for attackers this is another angle to hold to check Mid Top. If there’™s a defender holding an angle from Mid Top to Mid Bottom, a player in Mid Tiles could easily distract them or even kill them with ease.

    Mid Top

Continuing on the trend of focusing on the middle of the map, another critical callout on the map is Mid Top. Mid Top is going to be the spot on the map where you’™ll see the most amount of Operator kills. It provides a direct viewpoint into Mid Bottom as well as from Mid Tiles. It’™s vital to be cautious here, as any rotations from B Site to A Site would be visible from this part of the map. Mid Top is also the default point to see either an Omen or Astra smoke being placed.

    A Elbow

We now come to the callout related to Sunset’™s unique layout ‘” and why it’™s turned a lot of heads. We’™re talking about A Elbow, which is situated on the left hand side of A Site. This pathway is quite helpful in getting into the back of the site and gaining map control. If a defender is able to block this path, it will result in the attackers being funneled into the other path to enter the site. Using a Sage wall there are quite a lot of off angles that can be utilized to get kills on enemies present at A Site. If you’™re an attacker, gaining control over A Elbow can be quite crucial in the post plant. Ideally for post plant lineups, it helps with confusing the opponent about where you could peek out from.

    A Link

In our opinion this is the most important callout there is on Sunset. A Link is the part of A Site which is the ideal choke point for defenders. Gaining control over this part of the map will result in the defenders having to play from the back of the site. Resulting in their movements being quite predictable. As an attack gaining control over this part of the map should be the first thing in your mind following the spike being planted. As a defender if you have control at A Elbow, the attackers are forced to come into your viewpoint. With an Operator in your hand, you can kill all their hopes of planting the spike on A Site.
