German esports organization Sprout has radically updated its CS:GO squad.
Rasmus “raalz” Steensborg returned to the team, playing for Sprout as an in-game leader in 2021-2022. However, he will not be the new IGL because the organization decided it will be Daniil “alpha” Demin. The 18-year-old joined Sprout in May, the organization reported.
Another new player is Ihor “w0nderful” Zhdanov, the 18-year-old Ukrainian athlete who previously played for Serbian-based Team Spirit and HellRaisers.
“In 2022, we experienced Ihor’s capability at the IEM Rio Major first hand, falling short 0-2 in a BO3, which eventually led to our elimination. On the contrary, “w0nderful” proceeded to shine at the tournament, averaging a 1.20 HLTV ranking across the 10 maps played and, with that rank himself at the very top. Ihor brings a wealth of international experience, now following in Adrian “XELLOW” GuÈÄ footsteps whom we recently said goodbye to,” noted the Sprout statement.
The third newcomer is 21-year-old Swede Olle “spooke” Grundström, who moved to Sprout from Norway’s 00 Prospects.
In addition, the organization announced that it would create an academy team.
Sprout CS:GO squad is now:
- Rasmus “Zyphon” Nordfoss
- Rasmus “raalz” Steensborg
- Olle “spooke” Grundström
- Daniil “alpha” Demin (IGL)
- Ihor “w0nderful” Zhdanov
- Danny “BERRY” Krüger (Coach)
