LTR Restrictions Removed for the 2026 ERL Season
Aside from all that, Riot also decided to remove the LTR restrictions. Previously, every team needed to field at least two players from the specific region to compete. This condition is no longer in place, so teams are now free to build the rosters they want.
All in all, Riot is clearly trying to make the Tier 2 League of Legends scene in EMEA more competitive and flexible with the 2026 ERL Season. As the new ERL schedule and LTR changes go live, we’ll see which teams adapt fastest and rise through the regional system.
