Team Falcons will continue their DreamLeague Season 28 campaign without Ammar “ATF” Assaf after the offlaner developed an eye infection. The organization confirmed that Jonas “SabeRLight-” Volek will stand in as Falcons fight for a playoff spot in one of the biggest Dota 2 tournaments of 2026.
Why ATF Is Missing DreamLeague Season 28
Based on a social media post from Team Falcons, ATF developed an eye infection that prevents him from playing. Falcons wish their offlaner a speedy recovery and mentioned that SabeRLight- will be the one to replace him.
We do not have official information about how long ATF will be out of action. The bad news for Team Falcons is that his absence comes at a very important moment because the team is currently competing in one of the biggest Dota 2 tournaments of the year.
At the time of writing, Team Falcons has one win and two losses at DreamLeague Season 28’s Group Stage 2. The squad is currently in the bottom 4 and needs to step up its game if it wants to advance to the Playoffs.
SabeRLight Steps In for Team Falcons at DreamLeague Season 28
There are not that many people who have the capacity to replace ATF, but SabeRLight is among them. Many Dota 2 experts consider him one of the best offlaners in Dota 2. He previously played a key role for Team Liquid between 2024 and 2025. Currently, he is playing for Virtus.pro.
We will keep a close eye on the player and Team Falcons to see if they will be able to survive in Group Stage 2. Keep in mind that the latter will end on February 27, so we have a lot more matches to go. Aurora Gaming keeps winning left and right, whereas teams like the Falcons need to step up their game.
