DreamLeague Season 28 – Who’s Advancing to the Playoffs
The winner of the BLAST Slam VI definitely stepped up its game during Group Stage 2. Following an impressive run, Team Liquid finished first in the group with 7 victories and only lost 4 games in total. This definitely puts the team in a league of their own, and they are the big favorite to win the entire competition.
Tundra Esports is the second Dota 2 powerhouse to perform well in Group Stage 2. As expected, Tundra defeated most opponents and only lost against Team Liquid and Aurora Gaming. It’s definitely going to be among the favorites going forward.
Aurora Gaming also made it among the best, but the team finally showed that it can bleed. After its amazing 20+ series without losing, Aurora was finally brought to its knees a total of 3 times. The good news is that the squad made it out and will advance to the Playoffs.
Lastly, we have the Chinese powerhouse Xtreme Gaming. XG went into Group Stage 2 as one of the underdogs, but the team proved it could defeat even the best in the west. The Chinese exceeded expectations, but they failed to get a top-two finish after losing the last series.
The Eliminations at DreamLeague Season 28
Sadly, only four teams advanced to DreamLeague Season 28’s Playoffs, which means that four teams were eliminated. Perhaps the most distributed was Team Falcons because some people thought they’d be one of the favorites. The bad news for the Middle Eastern organization is that it was unable to live up to the expectations and finished with more losses than victories.
BetBoom is the second team that was unable to advance to the next stage. The team won only 2 matches and lost 5, which was not enough to be among the top 4.
The same applies to PARIVISION. Despite the good results in Group Stage 1, the team made several crucial mistakes and lost five games. Sadly, PARIVISION will have to wave goodbye to DreamLeague Season 28.
Lastly, we have MOUZ. After the team shocked its fans with its results in Group Stage 1, it could not maintain that level. What’s interesting is that MOUZ delivered Aurora Gaming’s first loss in the opening series but lost all 6 matches after that.
DreamLeague Season 28 Playoffs
The Playoffs will be between February 28 and March 1, and we will have a double-elimination bracket and a Bo5 Grand Final. The final was just two days ago, so make sure to watch it.
In terms of matches, Aurora Gaming will face Xtreme Gaming in the Lower Bracket semifinals. Team Liquid and Tundra Esports, on the other hand, will be playing in the Upper Bracket final.
