Faceit has tweeted that it has finally taken action against players who were cheating. According to the information, the company’s Anti-Cheat has banned a total of 125 accounts so far. What’s more, it will continue to ban players who abuse the game.
Faceit’s Ban – What is It About?
According to the company’s information, players have found a way to modify certain game files. By doing that, they have the ability to see through walls, which essentially means they are wall-hacking.
It seems like the company’s Anti-Cheat system is doing a good job at it because it has already banned more than 125 accounts. By the looks of it, the numbers will keep increasing, so we wouldn’t be surprised if it reaches a much higher number in the next couple of days.
This is not the first CS2 cheating scandal and it definitely won’t be the last. It seems like people are becoming more innovative over time and finding new ways to exploit the game. The bad news for them is that all anti-cheats are becoming better, and the growing influence of AI will make them even better.
It’s worth noting that this is not the only news from Faceit. There was an ongoing controversy about the client’s matchmaking and how it worked, but the manager finally addressed it. According to him, the system does not take the total number of wins into account when searching for opponents.
Also, Faceit will change the schedule for its current CS2 competitive season. The 7th edition should conclude on April 21, which means players will have some extra time to reach their desired rank. As of now, users can still earn ELO points and compete for slots in the FPL Challenger and Master Divisions.
