The PGL Astana Closed Qualifier teams have finally been revealed, and we will see a total of 18 squads from four regions. Here’s everything we know about them so far.
PGL Astana 2026 Closed Qualifiers – Regions & Teams
The PGL Astana regional qualifiers will begin on March 31, and the tournament’s organizers revealed all of the direct invites. Starting with Europe, players will see the likes of 100 Thieves, HOTU, Illwill and K27. These four teams will be joined by 4 additional teams and we will see them in action on March 22.
Moving on to the Americas, the qualifiers will be split into two parts – NA and SA and each one will award a spot for PGL Astana. North America will have LAG and Zomblers, whereas 9z and ODDIK will be among the invites in South America.
Next on the list is the Asian qualifier and it will be split into three smaller regions – Oceania, East Asia and West Asia. Each of these qualifiers will give us access to 4 teams, 2 of which come from the Open Qualifiers. The winner from each of the smaller regions will face off until only one team remains.
PGL Astana 2026 – What’s Next?
Speaking of PGL Astana 2026, it will be among the largest CS2 events in May this year. We will see a total of 16 Counter-Strike 2 teams competing for the massive $800k prize pool. We at Blix.gg will share more information about the competition soon, so make sure to follow us.
As for the qualifiers, it’s safe to say that each region has its favorites and dark horses. Europe will definitely the most intriguing region to watch as 100 Thieves will be looking to secure that slot. We will just have to wait and see whether the team wil;l be able to deal with the likes of HOTU and K27.
