Tournament organizer BLAST has revealed the dates for four Counter-Strike 2 tournaments scheduled for the first half of 2028, providing an early look at the competitive calendar two years ahead.
The events will take place between January and mid-May and are part of BLAST’s broader commitment to running multiple top-tier events across 2027 and 2028.
The announcement also confirmed that BLAST plans to host two additional events later in 2028, though details on those tournaments will be revealed at a later stage.
BLAST 2028 Event Dates

The four currently announced tournaments are scheduled as follows:
- January 10 – January 24, 2028
- February 21 – March 6, 2028
- April 3 – April 17, 2028
- May 1 – May 15, 2028
These events will form the backbone of BLAST’s competitive offering during the first half of the season.
Calendar Clashes Expected

Despite the early announcement, BLAST’s tournaments will still face competition from other major tournament organizers. Three of the four events currently overlap with tournaments run by rival operators, including PGL and ESL.
For example, BLAST’s January event is scheduled for January 10-24, while PGL has already announced a tournament taking place from January 14-24 during the same period.
The overlapping schedule highlights the growing competition among CS2 tournament organizers as they fight to secure top teams and favorable calendar slots.
BLAST Doubling Down On The Circuit
The announcement follows BLAST’s earlier decision to restructure its circuit beginning in 2027, including removing its “Frequent Flyer” participation program and allowing teams greater flexibility in choosing which events to attend.
With 12 events planned across 2027 and 2028, BLAST is signaling continued investment in the Counter-Strike ecosystem despite increasing pressure from rival circuits.
As the global tournament calendar becomes increasingly crowded, how teams prioritize these overlapping events could play a major role in shaping the competitive landscape heading into the 2028 season.
