David “dav1deuS” Tapia Maldonado is back with RED Canids for his third time. The Chilean rifler returns as the team builds its roster for the start of the 2026 CS2 season.
This move follows dav1deuS leaving paiN Gaming, where he did not meet expectations. Although he was added for more firepower, paiN had trouble staying consistent in 2025, and he finished with a rating below 1.00 at major events.

A Familiar Home for dav1deuS

RED Canids is not something new for dav1deuS. His first brief spell with the organization took place in late 2020, followed by a more impactful run starting in 2023. During that second stint, he established himself as one of the more aggressive riflers in the South American scene, helping RED remain competitive in regional tournaments before earning a move to paiN.
Now back with RED, the 25-year-old will look to rediscover his form in a familiar system and regain confidence after a difficult year at the top level.
RED Canids updated roster is as follows:
- André “drop” Abreu
- Richard “chayJESUS” Seidy
- Kaue “kauez” Kaschuk
- Allan “history” Lawrenz
- David “dav1deuS” Tapia Maldonado
- Gustavo “tge” Motta (coach)
The team currently sits outside the top 80 in global rankings, reflecting a rebuilding phase rather than immediate title contention.
What’s Next for RED Canids?
RED Canids will play in the IEM Rio 2026 Americas Open Qualifier, where dav1deuS will make his debut in this new stint. This event will be an early test for the team and a chance for the Chilean rifler to show he can make a big impact again.
For both the player and the organization, this reunion represents an opportunity for redemption and, potentially, a fresh chapter in RED Canids’ pursuit of relevance on the international stage.
