Casper ‘cadiaN’ Møller has been placed on the bench by Astralis and will be substituted by Rasmus ‘HooXi’ Nielsen as a stand-in for PGL Astana, alongside the announcement of Sports Director Kasper Straube’s departure.
The actions follow Astralis’s failure to qualify for their fifth consecutive Major, as they were ousted by B8 in the sixth-place decider match at the European MRQ.
‘CadiaN’ made a surprising move to join Astralis as a rifling in-game leader, but the experiment did not succeed, as his inclusion did not improve the team’s performance except for two promising runs at the BLAST World Final and PGL Cluj-Napoca.
The Dane also had difficulties making a personal impact after relinquishing his AWP. He maintained an average rating of 0.86 throughout his time with Astralis and did not achieve a single event rating exceeding 1.00.
His successor ‘HooXi’ comes to the team after an extended hiatus. The Danish player was sidelined by G2 in July 2024 and hasn’t participated in an HLTV-standard match since then. The 29-year-old is set to make his first appearance for Astralis as a stand-in at PGL Astana, which begins on May 10.
