HEROIC, one of the best teams in South America, was unable to qualify for DreamLeague Season 28. The squad made a lot of mistakes that ultimately cost them the match against Peru Rejects. Following this defeat, the organization decided to bench Cedric “Davai Lama” Deckmyn.
HEROIC Benched Davai Lama
According to the official announcement, the organization made the decision “due to recent challenges with performance”. HEROIC thanked Davai Lama for his service and wished him nothing but the best. In other words, he will most likely depart from the club in the near future, and we would not be surprised if we see him back in Europe.
The Belgian star was a part of the club for around two years, although he has always been “on and off”. In fact, he rejoined shortly after The International 2025 ended, but it seems his time was short-lived.
HEROIC had a fairly good start to the season after securing a few good results. However, the most recent disappointment seemed to be the final straw for the team. HEROIC was unable to secure the only South American slot for DreamLeague Season 28 and will miss out on the competition.
Considering all of the upcoming Dota 2 tournaments, we expect HEROIC to announce the new player soon. The team will have to prepare for the ESL One Birmingham South American qualifiers because they start on January 17.
Fans will definitely keep an eye on HEROIC because the organization has proven to be really good. The team delivered many consistent results last season and even won the first Tier 1 trophy for South America. This happened after the team triumphed at the PGL Wallachia Season 6 in 2024.
