It seems like Aurora Gaming won’t compete at PGL Wallachia Season 7 with its full roster. The Eastern European powerhouse won’t be able to rely on Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko after the latter failed to secure a visa. Instead of him, the team will have to count on Alik “V-TUNE” Vorobey.
Nightfall’s Absence Can be Crucial
It’s sad that we won’t be able to see Aurora Gaming in its full glory yet again. After the team was unable to compete with Mikoto, it had to play with another stand-in in the face of V-Tune. All of this comes at a time when Aurora Gaming is one of the best Dota 2 teams in the world and recently finished 2nd at DreamLeague Season 28.
Prior to this event, Aurora Gaming achieved an impressive 31-game winning streak. In fact, they kept dominating during Group Stage 1 of DreamLeague S28, but they eventually lost against Team Liquid.
Aurora’s consistent improvement has been hard to ignore—and likely unsettling for their competitors—as they currently hold third place in our Dota 2 team rankings. Their runner-up finish at the recent DreamLeague further cemented their status as one of the leading contenders heading into the next tournament. However, the absence of Nightfall could alter expectations for the squad.
Those who support the team hope they bring their A-game again at PGL Wallachia Season 7. Although V-Tune does not bring the same level of reputation as Nightfall, he is no stranger to filling in for teams in the region, including a notable stint substituting for Team Liquid at DreamLeague Season 26 in May 2025.
PGL Wallachia Season 7 is Starting Soon
Speaking of the big event, we are just days away from the beginning of PGL Wallachia Season 7. Taking place between March 7–15, the tournament comes with a $1,000,000 prize pool. MOUZ will enter as the defending champions, but it will be interesting to see if they can defend their trophy.
