Following an epic Grand Final, Team Liquid proved it is back among the best Dota 2 teams in the world. The squad demolished Natus Vincere in the BLAST Slam VI Grand Final and won its first LAN tournament of the year. Let’s take a look at what happened.
Team Liquid vs Natus Vincere – BLAST Slam VI Grand Final
The final clash between Natus Vincere and Team Liquid was the culmination of BLAST Slam VI. Na’Vi got here following an impressive performance during the Group Stage. The team was among the best (alongside OG) and secured a Semifinal slot. Even though it was not easy, the team managed to eliminate Team Yandex after a deadly Bo5 and this gave it access to the Grand Final.
Team Liquid’s journey was not as easy as Na’Vi’s. Nisha and the rest were among the underdogs at the tournament, but they rose from the ashes. Following a disappointing performance in the Group Stage, Liquid eliminated GamerLegion, Team Falcons and OG before reaching the final.
Despite being the favorite, Natus Vincere was unable to bring down their opponent. Liquid set the temp after securing a fast win in game 1. The team needed just 33 minutes to gain the lead in the series.
Game 2 was the most interesting because it was over 1 hour long, and in the end, Na’Vi won it. We expected games 3 and 4 to be similar, but this did not happen. Team Liquid was clearly in a league of its own and had no issues in both games. The last one was probably the most dominating yet, as Liquid grabbed the lead early on and did not let it slip.
What’s Next for Team Liquid?
After winning BLAST Slam VI Malta, the next challenge for the WEU powerhouse is DreamLeague Season 28. Despite being among the squad that made it there via the qualifiers, it is among the big favorites. It will be very interesting to see what’s going to happen, so stay tuned.
