Team Secret has officially announced its departure from professional Dota 2 on February 7, 2026, marking the end of one of the most iconic eras in the game’s competitive history. While the organization confirmed it is stepping away from active competition, it also stated that it remains open to compelling opportunities in the future.

Team Secret’s History in Professional Dota 2

    Until next time, Dota 2.

A lot of you have been wondering about the status of our Dota 2 division. We are still interested in compelling opportunities, but remain passive in seeking a return to the scene.

Thank you for all the support, and hope to see you later 🖤🤍 pic.twitter.com/L310No628B

    — Team Secret (@teamsecret) February 7, 2026

Old-school Dota 2 fans remember that this organization began competing in our favorite game. Following the downfall of Natus Vincere and Fnatic after The International 2024, Secret emerged from the ashes. The team consisted of some of the best players at the time, including Kuro Selehi “KuroKy” Takhsomi and many others.

What made Team Secret different was that it had no major corporate backing. Instead, it was run by the players themselves, mainly Clement “Puppey” Ivanov. He and Kuro played for a while, but their path separated shortly after because it became clear that they could not play together. During that time, Secret also had the likes of S4, n0tail, and Fly.

In the years after that, Team Secret changed its roster several times and tried playing with all kinds of players, a long decline that eventually led to the organization leaving professional Dota 2 in 2026. TI5 was an interesting time for the team because it had the likes of Artour “Arteezy” Babaev and Ludwig “zai” Wahlberg. The addition of these two players meant that s4 had to leave, and Kuro had to move to position 4. It seems like this did not work well because Kuro decided to leave, and Puppey was left on his own to run the team.

Why Team Secret Never Won The International

SECRET vs TUNDRA – TI11 GRAND FINAL – THE INTERNATIONAL 2022 DOTA 2

Despite having some of the best Dota 2 rosters over the years, Team Secret never won The International. The team managed to secure countless big events over the years, but it never lifted the Aegis.

Fans may remember that Team Secret got close to achieving that during The International 11. During that time, the squad had the likes Michal “Nisha” Jankowski and Roman “Resol1tion” Fominok and looked almost unstoppable. However, even this roster was unable to stop Team Tundra, who were on another level during that time.

What Went Wrong for Team Secret After TI11

The Sad State of Team Secret

Following the failure to lift the Aegis at TI11, Team Secret endured several years of bad luck and limited success, a downward spiral that ultimately resulted in Team Secret’s Dota 2 exit from top-level competition. Puppey tried changing the team’s roster several times by adding all kinds of new players. Sadly, the roster changes never paid off.

Secret consistently failed to qualify for any of the big Dota 2 tournaments, and it seems like Puppey eventually came to terms with that. He was inactive for some time, and then it became clear he would step in as PARIVISION’s coach.

Is Team Secret Leaving Dota 2 for Good?

We do not know whether Team Secret will make a comeback in the future, but considering its history, it is very likely. Despite the lack of results in the last couple of years, Secret remains among the most popular organizations. Make sure to follow us for more details.
