ESL has announced the 11 direct invites<\/strong> for IEM Rio 2024<\/strong>, with five spots<\/strong> for regional qualifiers. The $250,000 <\/strong>tournament will run from October 7 to 13<\/strong>, with teams split into two groups. Matches will start with BO1<\/strong> and transition to BO3<\/strong> for the rest of the event.<\/p>\n

The group stage winners will advance to the semi-finals<\/strong>, while the second and third-place teams will move to the quarterfinals<\/strong>. The playoffs <\/strong>will consist of a simple single-elimination<\/strong> bracket.<\/p>\n

Several raft teams have received invitations due to their status as members of ESL’s <\/strong>partner system. Additionally, FURIA <\/strong>received the “local hero” invite.<\/p>\n

According to ESL<\/strong>, Team Spirit<\/strong> received an invitation to the tournament but declined it.<\/p>\n

The final five teams will qualify via regional qualifiers: two from Europe and one each from Asia, South America, and North America. The South American closed qualifier invites have been sent out to MIBR <\/strong>and paiN<\/strong>, with the invites for other regions pending announcement.<\/p>\n
