G2 <\/strong>has officially announced the removal of Rasmus ‘HooXi<\/strong>‘ Nielsen from their starting roster through a farewell video released on Monday.<\/p>\n

G2 <\/strong>made their second change of the summer off-season by parting ways with their in-game leader, Nemanja ‘nexa’ <\/strong>Isakovi\u00c4\u0087, and bringing in Mario ‘malbsMd’ <\/strong>Samayoa from M80 to take his place.<\/p>\n

The replacement for ‘HooXi’ <\/strong>on the G2 <\/strong>team has not been announced yet. However, it is likely that the replacement has already been finalized, as the deadline for submitting the roster for the upcoming Esports World Cup<\/strong>, where G2 <\/strong>will be competing, was on July 1st.<\/p>\n

‘HooXi’ <\/strong>joined G2 <\/strong>in the summer of 2022 from Copenhagen Flames<\/strong>. After a rough start, he led the team to their first Big Event win since 2017 at the BLAST Premier World Final<\/strong> just two months later.<\/p>\n

After their victory, G2 <\/strong>went on a dominant streak, winning 13 consecutive Big Event matches and claiming the title at IEM Katowice<\/strong>. In the second half of 2023, G2 <\/strong>also won another highly-coveted trophy at IEM Cologne<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Despite consistently making it to the playoffs, ‘HooXi’ <\/strong>has not been able to secure any titles since their triumph in Germany last August. G2’s <\/strong>sole victory came at IEM Dallas<\/strong> this May, a tournament in which ‘Jake’ ‘Stewie2K’ <\/strong>Yip played instead of ‘HooXi’<\/strong>. This added further scrutiny to ‘HooXi’s’ <\/strong>leadership abilities.<\/p>\n
