FaZe <\/strong>has officially announced that they have acquired Oleksandr ‘s1mple’ <\/strong>Kostyliev on a loan from Natus Vincere <\/strong>until the conclusion of the Austin Major<\/strong>. The three-time Player of the Year will take the place of Helvijs ‘broky’ <\/strong>Saukants, who has been shifted to the bench as the team aims to improve after a lackluster start to the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘s1mple’ <\/strong>has not been active since the Europe RMR of the Shanghai Major<\/strong>, where he was on loan to Falcons<\/strong>. The loan agreement was expected to continue until the end of 2024, but it was terminated early after the team did not qualify for the Major.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was s1mple’s <\/strong>second loan period with the Saudi organization, following his participation in the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown<\/strong> earlier in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On FaZe<\/strong>, ‘s1mple’ <\/strong>will be rejoining Jonathan ‘\u2060EliGE\u2060’ <\/strong>Jablonowski, his former Liquid teammate from 2016. That roster achieved significant success in both Majors that year, finishing in the top four at MLG Columbus<\/strong> and taking second place at ESL One Cologne<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘s1mple’ <\/strong>becomes part of a team that has not met the expectations created by EliGE’s <\/strong>notable signing during the off-season. The North American player was recruited to take the place of Robin ‘ropz\u2060’ <\/strong>Kool, who has regained his top form as a member of a powerful Vitality <\/strong>squad that secured its fifth consecutive Big Event victory on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FaZe’s <\/strong>only notable achievements in the first four months of the year were finishing fourth at PGL Cluj-Napoca<\/strong> and third at PGL Bucharest<\/strong>. The team was unable to qualify for the playoffs at IEM Melbourne<\/strong> and ended up in 5th-6th place at BLAST Rivals<\/strong>, where they failed to win a map against either Falcons <\/strong>or MOUZ <\/strong>and had to exert considerable effort to defeat FlyQuest<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘s1mple’ <\/strong>is set to make his debut with FaZe <\/strong>at IEM Dallas<\/strong>, which is scheduled to begin on May 19<\/strong>. This event will be the team’s last tournament before the Austin Major<\/strong>, where they will kick off their journey in Stage 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
