Several sources have verified to HLTV <\/a><\/strong>and Croissant Strike<\/strong> that G2 <\/strong>is in talks with fnatic <\/strong>to acquire Mat\u00fa\u0161 ‘\u2060MATYS\u2060’ <\/strong>\u0160imko in order to finalize the team’s roster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This decision follows a previous report indicating that G2 <\/strong>was considering the replacement of their current in-game leader, Janusz ‘Snax’ <\/strong>Pogorzelski, with ENCE’s <\/strong>rifler, Kacper ‘\u2060xKacpersky’ <\/strong>Gabara, who was initially viewed as the top candidate for the role in the roster. HLTV <\/strong>is now aware that G2 <\/strong>has ended discussions with ENCE<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The move of ‘MATYS’ <\/strong>to G2 <\/strong>would finalize a hectic off-season for the international team. G2 <\/strong>has already secured the talents of former HEROIC <\/strong>AWPer \u00c1lvaro ‘SunPayus’ <\/strong>Garc\u00eda and coach Eetu ‘sAw’ <\/strong>Saha, having both signed before the BLAST.tv Austin Major<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with bringing in a new AWPer and a coach, G2 <\/strong>will be adapting to a new captain, as Nemanja ‘\u2060huNter-\u2060’ <\/strong>Kova\u010d is set to lead the team after Snax’s <\/strong>exit from the active roster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
‘MATYS’ <\/strong>has displayed solid performance with fnatic<\/strong>, achieving a 1.12 rating<\/a><\/strong> over his year-and-a-half tenure. However, the Slovak rifler had limited opportunities, playing in just two ESL Pro League<\/a><\/strong> seasons and the Challengers Stage<\/strong> of the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If this move becomes a reality, ‘MATYS’ <\/strong>will encounter a challenging start in his first appearance with G2<\/strong>, who are scheduled to compete again in the main stage of IEM Cologne<\/a><\/strong> in late July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
