Ninjas in Pyjamas <\/strong>have announced that Gareth ‘MisteM’ <\/strong>Ries has taken on the role of in-game leader, replacing Alejandro ‘alex’<\/strong>Masanet, who the Swedish organization has benched.<\/p>\n

During a challenging ten months, ‘alex’ <\/strong>bravely led the Ninjas and guided them through a tough period that culminated in a last-placed finish at Copenhagen’s RMR<\/strong>. Despite this setback, ‘alex’ <\/strong>remained resilient and was responsible for rebuilding the team, welcoming new players Artem ‘\u00e2\u0081\u00a0r1nkle\u00e2\u0081\u00a0‘ <\/strong>Moroz, Max ‘\u00e2\u0081\u00a0maxster\u00e2\u0081\u00a0‘ <\/strong>Jansson, and Isak ‘\u00e2\u0081\u00a0isak\u00e2\u0081\u00a0‘ <\/strong>Fahl\u00c3\u00a9n to the roster.<\/p>\n

After a few months, he was no longer needed as the new roster, which had initially shown great potential, struggled to perform well in the new season.<\/p>\n

In January 2024, 22-year-old ‘MisteM’ <\/strong>took over for ‘alex’ <\/strong>and became a part of the Young Ninjas team. Under ‘MisteM’s <\/strong>leadership, the team reached its peak at World No. 54 earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Daniel ‘sprayxd’ <\/strong>Kogan, who previously coached ‘MisteM’ <\/strong>in Young Ninjas <\/strong>and ATK<\/strong>, will be joining the main team as an assistant coach to Richard ‘Xizt’ <\/strong>Landstr\u00c3\u00b6m, replacing Fredrik ‘slap’ <\/strong>Junbrant.<\/p>\n

The pair will also be reuniting with their former teammate ‘maxster’<\/strong>, who played a crucial role in Young Ninjas’ <\/strong>performance in early 2024. However, ‘maxster’s<\/strong>performance with the main team has declined, with his rating dropping to 0.96 <\/strong>in the last three months.<\/p>\n

The spotlight has now shifted to the Shanghai Major<\/strong> cycle, where ‘MisteM’ <\/strong>and ‘sprayxd’ <\/strong>have a brief two-month window to make their mark on the team as NIP <\/strong>strives to qualify for their inaugural CS2 <\/strong>Major.<\/p>\n
