This event, which features a prize pool of<strong> $1,000,000<\/strong>, has been a highly anticipated conclusion to the year since its establishment in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the <strong>World Final&#8217;s <\/strong>schedule is uncertain due to a conflict with the <strong>RMR qualifiers <\/strong>for the <strong>Shanghai Major<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The location for the event is yet to be announced following the expiration of <strong>BLAST&#8217;s <\/strong>deal with <strong>Abu Dhabi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The main objective of the<strong> World Final<\/strong> is to assemble the most outstanding teams of the year for an intimate eight-team LAN tournament. <strong>BLAST <\/strong>successfully achieves this by extending invitations to the victorious teams of the most prestigious events, including Major winners <strong>Natus Vincere<\/strong>, <strong>IEM Katowice<\/strong> champions <strong>Spirit<\/strong>, and the recently crowned <strong>IEM Cologne<\/strong> victors <strong>Vitality<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The top two slots are also awarded to the winners of the other <strong>BLAST Premier<\/strong> stadium events, including the <strong>Spring Final<\/strong>, which was won by <strong>Team Spirit<\/strong>, and the <strong>Fall Final<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The remaining slots are determined by the <strong>BLAST Premier <\/strong>leaderboard, taking into account that if a team such as <strong>Spirit <\/strong>wins two events, it would typically earn them an invitation. This method will determine four slots, with <strong>FaZe <\/strong>and <strong>G2 <\/strong>currently holding the fourth and fifth-place positions after<strong> IEM Cologne<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The competition for the final two spots will be fierce, with both<strong>MOUZ <\/strong>and <strong>Astralis <\/strong>currently ahead in the rankings. However, there will be ample opportunities to earn ranking points at the upcoming <strong>ESL Pro League S20<\/strong>, <strong>BLAST Showdown<\/strong>, and<strong> BLAST Fall Final<\/strong> events before teams lock in their rosters on <strong>October 23<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Valve&#8217;s <\/strong>rules regarding partner leagues dictate that 2024 will mark the last occurrence of the <strong>World Final<\/strong> in its current format. In its place, <strong>BLAST Rivals<\/strong>, an eight-team event held bi-annually, will be introduced.
