Monte <\/strong>has made the decision to bench Volodymyr ‘Woro2k’ <\/strong>Veletniuk, who served as the AWPer and in-game leader for the team, marking the end of his almost two-year tenure with the organization as one of its original members.<\/p>\n

This represents the most recent in a series of changes for Monte<\/strong>, as they have recently added Martin ‘STYKO\u00e2\u0081\u00a0‘ <\/strong>Styk and Ali’\u00e2\u0081\u00a0hAdji’ <\/strong>Ha\u00c3\u00afnouss to the lineup.<\/p>\n

Monte did not disclose the replacement for ‘Woro2k’<\/strong>on the team yet, and‘Woro2k’s <\/strong>future destination remains unclear.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old sniper was one of the founding members of Monte <\/strong>and served as the team’s in-game for much of his near two-year stint. They found some modest success in the online scene in 2022 after their founding in July but suffered from roster instability. After adding Szymon ‘kRaSnaL’<\/strong>Mrozek, Viktor ‘sdy’<\/strong>Orudzhev, and Sergey ‘lmbt’<\/strong>Bezhanov to their lineup by January 2023, Monte <\/strong>began climbing the world rankings. They secured several online event wins, including the ESL Challenger League<\/strong>, and qualified for the BLAST Paris Major Europe RMR<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

After an underdog run to the top eight at the Paris Major<\/strong>, the team secured a spot in the top 10 <\/strong>world rankings. Following the Major, Mohammad’ BOROS’Malhas left the team. Despite expectations of a decline, the team’s performance remained strong with Alexander ‘br0’<\/strong>Bro joining. They achieved a top-four finish at ESL Pro League S18<\/strong>, came in second at Roobet Cup 2023,<\/strong> and won the trophy at ESL Challenger J\u00c3\u00b6nk\u00c3\u00b6ping 2023<\/strong>, solidifying their status as a top-five team by the end of 2023.<\/p>\n

In early 2024, Monte’s <\/strong>prospects took a hit with the departure of key players ‘br0’<\/strong>and ‘sdy’<\/strong>. As a result, the team’s world ranking began to decline. Although they were still able to make deep runs in tier-two online events, their overall performance was significantly impacted by the departures.<\/p>\n

With‘Woro2k’s <\/strong>departure, Monte <\/strong>no longer has any of its original roster members. Sergiy ‘DemQQ’<\/strong>Demchenko is now the longest-serving player after joining the team just a week after its founding, replacing Karol ‘rallen’<\/strong>Rodowicz.<\/p>\n
