The matchups for the Esports World Cup<\/strong>, set to take place from July 17 to 21<\/strong> in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia<\/strong>, have been announced. There are 15 teams who will compete for a share of a $1,000,000<\/strong> prize pool.<\/p>\n

G2’s <\/strong>new roster will face The Mongolz <\/strong>in the featured match of the opening round.<\/p>\n

Teams who win the best-of-three (Bo3)<\/strong> matches in the opening round will move directly to the playoffs. The teams who lose will go to the “resurrection stage” to compete with JiJieHao<\/strong>. In the resurrection stage, there will be a single-elimination bracket with best-of-one (Bo1)<\/strong> matches, and the winner will earn the final playoff spot.<\/p>\n

The playoffs will be conducted in a best-of-three (Bo3)<\/strong> format, using a single-elimination bracket to determine the tournament winner.<\/p>\n

One of the most exciting matchups in the opening round will be the new-look G2 team facing off against The MongolZ<\/strong>. G2 <\/strong>will be integrating two new players and dealing with role clashes, while taking on one of the most promising teams from the previous season.<\/p>\n

Virtus.pro<\/strong>vs. Complexity <\/strong>is another headline matchup, and it’s one of the hardest to predict. The two teams are very close in the world rankings. Both have shown moments of promise and weakness recently. Complexity<\/strong> defeated Virtus.pro<\/strong>in the quarter-finals of ESL Pro League<\/strong>, so the Russian squad has a chance to seek revenge.<\/p>\n
