NRG <\/strong>has made an official announcement regarding the addition of Nick’ nitr0′ <\/strong>Cannella to their CS2 <\/strong>roster. After spending the initial six months of 2024 competing in VALORANT <\/strong>for M80<\/strong>, ‘nitr0’ <\/strong>will be returning to CS2<\/strong>. His addition to the team comes as a replacement for Colby ‘Walco’ <\/strong>Walsh, who has officially departed from the roster.<\/p>\n

Upon joining NRG<\/strong>, ‘nitr0’ <\/strong>will have the opportunity to reunite with former teammates Damian ‘daps’ <\/strong>Steele and Josh’ oSee’ <\/strong>Ohm. This reunion is particularly significant as they previously played together during his extensive tenure on Liquid<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The experienced in-game leader aims to breathe new life into a struggling NRG <\/strong>lineup, which has not achieved much success since the organization returned to CS <\/strong>last year.<\/p>\n

NRG <\/strong>had a disappointing start after their return to the game. Although they successfully requalified for ESL Challenger League<\/strong>, they faced a series of failures in online qualifiers, including the PGL Copenhagen Major<\/strong> Americas RMR qualifier.<\/p>\n

Following Rocket’s <\/strong>disqualification, NRG <\/strong>received an invitation to compete at the Americas RMR<\/strong>. However, they were defeated by paiN<\/strong>and Imperial<\/strong>, leading to their exit from the competition.<\/p>\n

As a result of their performance in the Major circuit, NRG <\/strong>made changes to their lineup. They transitioned daps<\/strong> from a playing role to head coach, released Justin ‘FaNg<\/strong>‘ Coakley, and added ‘Walco’ <\/strong>and Timothy’ autimatic’ <\/strong>Ta to the team.<\/p>\n

NRG’s <\/strong>performance improved slightly, but still couldn’t make it through several online qualifiers. However, they achieved a surprise victory over M80 <\/strong>in their last match before the player break. This win qualified the team for the BLAST Fall Showdown 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
