\n Skyesports Championship 2024 Overview: Teams and Format

Skyesports <\/strong>has revealed that they will be extending four additional invitations for their upcoming Championship event. The event is set to take place in Mumbai, India <\/strong>from July 23rd<\/strong> to July 28th<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The four additional teams will join the eight pre-invited teams, creating two groups of six for a round-robin tournament. The top three teams from each group will advance to the single-elimination playoffs. This brings the total number of teams to 12<\/strong>. Additionally, the prize pool has been raised by $100,000<\/strong> to a total of $300,000 <\/strong>to accommodate the increased number of participants.<\/p>\n

Skyesports <\/strong>has tried hosting big international LAN events, and the tournament organizer hopes for a smoother experience this time. Previous events, like Skyesports Masters 2024<\/strong>, had to be moved online at the last minute due to disruptions.<\/p>\n

The South Asian tournament organizer indefinitely postponed the Skyesports Championship 5.0<\/strong> in November 2023 due to “foreign political conditions and a little bit of bad luck”. Additionally, they moved the Skyesports Souvenir tournament <\/strong>online after initially announcing it as a LAN event in Colombo, Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n

Five of the top 30 teams have already confirmed their participation in the upcoming event. The list of confirmed teams includes The MongolZ<\/strong>, Eternal Fire<\/strong>, and FURIA<\/strong>. Additionally, the event will mark the debut of the new Nathan’ NBK-‘<\/strong> Schmitt-led roster of the Indian organization Revenant<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

3DMAX <\/strong>won the European qualifier<\/strong>, bringing their total to six victories. True Rippers <\/strong>defeated Gods Reign<\/strong> in the local Indian qualifier<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
