In the quarter-final of ESL Pro League Season 22, the CIS-based team Spirit will have to face off against the North American organization FaZe. Spirit enters this quarter-final with something to prove after their roster update. FaZe, on the other hand, has little to lose — they were forced to adjust their lineup due to ESL rules.
The last time these two teams met was at BLAST Open Lisbon 2025, and Spirit won with a score of 2-0. Both teams had different players on their roster back then, so this time, it will be interesting to see who will win after all the changes both teams have made.

Previous Encounter & Player Stats – Spirit vs. FaZe

Team Form & Key Players Ahead of the Quarter-final
Spirit – Momentum and Star Power
Since they brought ‘tN1R’, everyone expected them to have more firepower in a team, and it wasn’t too long until it was proven as in a qualification match for the playoff stage, against G2 ‘tN1R’ was the best player by the rating, having a 38-22 K/D ratio and a rating of 1.65.
Their main star, ‘donk,’ had 50 kills in that same series; even though the overall rating was lower, it doesn’t matter much when you have two stars like that on your team. They’re in good shape and hungry to prove to everyone that they’re one of the best teams in the world.
FaZe – Fighting Back Against the Odds
They had to forfeit their opening match due to the ESL roster rules. They brought back rain and, despite a rough start, still battled through to the playoffs, starting from 0-1, and then lost their first match against 3DMAX, making it a 0-2 score for themselves and being on the edge of elimination, and despite everything, they made it through to the playoff stage with a score of 3-0.
Their nothing-to-lose mindset could be the fuel behind their comeback, as they’re playing their last tournament with ‘rain’, or it might be because they brought ‘Twistzz’ back, and he was and still is one of their best players who is familiar with ‘karrigan’ system in the team, and he doesn’t need time to fit in. They seem in good shape, but they’re yet to face off against the best teams and show what they’re capable of in the current roster.
tN1R takes it cool
Spirit vs FaZe – Quarter-final Prediction
Considering all the factors mentioned above and the fact that Spirit is playing in their main roster with much more firepower than they had before, when they were dominating FaZe in their matchups, it’s all in favor of Team Spirit. We expect Spirit to win this match.
Can ‘rain’ and FaZe make a miracle and win despite all the odds, or will it be Spirit and ‘tN1R’ proving himself once again to be the right choice for Spirit? We will have to see it this Friday at 15:30 CET!
